Free Lesson For Metal Guitarist's:
How To Fix Your Rhythm Guitar Technique
In this FREE LESSON you’ll learn:
- How to increase your picking speed and endurance without injuring yourself
- A simple approach to breaking through the intermediate plateau (stuck at 140-190bpm)
- Why rotating your forearm slows your down picking down
My down picking is much faster than it was before meeting Karri and now I'm able to down pick songs like Master of puppets (212bpm) and Waking the demon (255bpm). I also have a much better idea on how to overall develop my playing.
I can only say to do it. Best thing I’ve done in a long time.
Prior to learning from Karri, I had been playing for a few years but my technique had plateaued. This got frustrating, especially if you love metal the way that I do. I started Googling for techniques to help, tried a few and never really got anywhere, then ultimately found Karri's YouTube channel and started working with him. This has been one of the good decisions I've made in my life as my playing has materially improved since.
I was watching other lesson videos online and never really got anywhere. I was playing for hours and hours and hurting my picking hand while doing that. Eventually I found Karri and reached out and started working with him. We have been working 6 months together and my skills have gotten so much better. My speed is way up and we have solved a lot of problems in my playing.
I didn't know how to correctly build speed and endurance. With him I progressed more in a few weeks than I did in several years by myself. I'm a piano teacher at the conservatory, but Karri told me a lot of things I didn't know about music and teaching. He's not just an amazing guitar player, he's really educated and a good teacher.
After a year with Karri there is a huge difference in what I can play.
One thing Karri is especially good at is teaching alternate picking and down picking; how to break through plateaus and play really fast with good tone and consistent timing. Strongly recommend working with Karri and also practicing a lot. If you combine these two it's impossible to not get a lot better.
